Robert Burns
Robert Burns (* 25. Januar 1759 in Alloway; † 21. Juli 1796 Dumfries/Schottland) war ein schottischer Schriftsteller und Poet.Sein wichtigstes Werk war Poems chiefly in the Scottish dialect (1786). Berühmt ist auch das von ihm getextete Lied "For auld lang syne", das zB. traditionsgemäß in US-Amerika zum Jahreswechsel gesungen wird, um der im abgelaufenen Jahr Verstorbenen zu gedenken.
